Timmins Gracie Jiu-Jitsu regularly hosts seminars throughout the year. Every year we host a marquee seminar in which we invite a world class guest instructor.

We have hosted seminars with UFC founder - Grandmaster Rorion Gracie, his grandsons Ryron, Rener, and Ralek Gracie. Gracie Jiu-Jitsu Black Belts: Ricardo Bayona, Ty Gay, and Pat Cooligan.

We also teach our own introductory and advanced seminars in-house and we also regularly travel out of province and country to teach introductory and advanced seminars at other locations.

Birthday parties

Standard Package

($25/Child - 8 Children Minimum)
Our Gracie Jiu-Jitsu parties are a huge hit and consist of the following:
- 1 Hour of Gracie Jiu-Jitsu instruction & games
- 1 Hour of academy rental
- 2 extra large pizza’s, 3 bags of large chips, and juice boxes
- We provide the chairs & tables and we will take care of the cleanup
- Each child will receive a voucher for a free week of Gracie Jiu-Jitsu training

Cost is $25/child with a minimum of 8 children.

Summer Camps 2020

Week 1: July 6-10 - NERF WARS
This week the children are getting drafted into the Nerf Mobile Infantry, in order to defend the dojo from the evil Space Samurai! Campers will be briefed, placed into Nerf squadrons, complete basic training, create and don their Nerf Soldier uniforms, and the fun only begins there! The campers will spend the week preparing themselves for the impending Nerf battle with the Space Samurai.

Week 2: July 13th to July 17th - Pirates and Explorers
Ahoy jiujiteiros! This week we set sail to the high seas and have a jolly good time aboard the trusty Timmins GJJ ship! The campers will be split into crews, elect a captain and first mate, and race to find the buried treasure! Hints, clues, and special challenges throughout the week will culminate in an epic scavenger hunt for the pirates’ treasure!

Week 3: July 20th to July 24th - Fantasy Adventure

Whether your child is a fan of fantasy literature, video games, or movies, or they enjoy playing pretend, exploring their imagination, or embarking on exciting adventures, this week has something for everyone! The adventure begins with the adventurers getting into their parties, getting acquainted with the other adventurers and soon-to-be party members. The adventure begins when the adventurers are contacted by an evil warlock with questionable intentions. Throughout the week, adventurers will participate in fantastical games and activities following particular themes. With Tolkien Tuesday, Wizarding Wednesday, Thrilling-Tale Thursday and Fairytale Friday, there’s sure to be something for everyone. All the fun and whimsy of our Fantasy Adventure week culminates in a daring dungeon crawl - but not before adventures get some warrior training!

Week 4: Aug 10th to Aug 14th - Star Wars
This week, in a galaxy not so far away, young Timmins GJJ padawans begin their Jedi training! Throughout the week the kids will train their bodies and their minds on their journey toward becoming Jedi Knights. This will include making their own lightsabers, Jedi physical training, and working on understanding the darkside by participating in an anti-bullying workshop focusing on compassion and friendship.

Week 5: Aug 17th to Aug 21st - Superheroes Unite!
This week is about all things HERO! The children will learn about the traits and characteristics of a hero and about behaving in ways that they can be proud of by participating in goal setting workshops. The campers will also be engaging in some superhero-style physical training, create superhero disguises, and get to dress up like their favourite superheroes (ones that already exist, or a brand new one - be creative!). Finally, campers will learn about some real life heroes, our emergency service personnel.

Week 6: Aug 24th to Aug 28th - Zombie Invasion
This week of camp, the children will be put to the test to see if they can survive the zombie apocalypse! They’ll learn basic survival skills, engage in specific zombie-dystopia related physical training, some fun weapons training, as well as other zombie-related crafts and activities.

Sleepovers

Our Night of the Ninja sleepover parties are Legendary! We have tons of fun, games, snacks, movies and best of all, the kids spend the night at the academy! We have these events a couple times a year.

Kids must bring all their necessities such as: pillow, sleeping bag, change of clothing, toothbrush and toothpaste, etc. We will tire them out, give them a healthy bed time snack, watch a movie and hang out, and feed them breakfast before they go in the morning!

Drop off at 8:00pm - Pick up at 9:00am.

Gracie Game Day

Gracie Game Day happens every two months and is absolutely free to our younger members. There is only one catch. They must earn their way in!

Gracie Game Day is part of our Character Development Program. The program consists of six chapters: Responsibility, Health, Respect, Citizenship, Manners, and Caring. We spend two months on each chapter. In every class, we discuss the featured character trait for 10-15 minutes, emphasising the simple things your child can do to make it a part of their life. The kids use our unique point-based system to gain enough points to qualify to attend Gracie Game Day. This system is a powerful incentive for kids and a useful tool for parents to develop positive behaviour at home and school. Gracie Game Day is so much fun that parents will often put on a uniform just so they can join the party!
